The Dinky journey started with my Dad (Bob) a few years after my Mom (Mary) passed away, he started walking and talking around car boots, antique shops, and toy fairs looking for Austin related Dinky toys to restore but in a short while anything Dinky. He would very often say how certain models were hard to find, I started searching on the internet and eBay being the first choice for Dinky’s I started getting fascinated myself. I got him a few he needed but he preferred the looking around the car boots etc, on his travels he heard of suppliers for Decals and Parts and when the parts arrived I just had to have a go myself.
Starting with racing drivers and steering wheels, to begin with, and not long after producing various parts, I listed them on eBay. I accepted eBay’s suggested ID Cliff8310, then later down the line I called the eBay shop ‘Dinky-Spares’. Postage and Shipping within 2 days, 5 days a week and supplying quality decals and spares.
My Dad worked at the Austin Motor Company, Longbridge Birmingham most of his working life as a signwriter and spray painter.
